Police Interrupt Robbery in Progress

Jamestown police say they were on patrol at 4 o’clock Sunday morning when they drove up on a robbery taking place.

They saw two suspicious people in the area of Falconer and Bowen streets and learned that 22-year-old Brandon Sparks of Jamestown had just robbed another man at knifepoint. Sparks had the victim’s cash and a necklace.

He was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail.

The victim was not hurt.
