Threats Made During Attempted Robbery

A Gowanda man is facing charges for allegedly trying to rob a man and threatening to shoot him.

Police say at around 11 o’clock Sunday night 26-year-old Bradley Gabel approached a man walking on Buffalo Street, grabbed him and demanded money. Gabel said he had a gun and a knife and allegedly threatened to shoot and stab the victim if he didn’t give him money.

The victim was able to break free and call police. When police arrived, Gabel allegedly started fighting with them.

He was charged with attempted robbery, unlawful imprisonment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and then released on his own recognizance.
