Fire Destroys Elk County Home

Fire destroyed a home on Route 219 in Elk County’s Horton Township this morning.

The fire started at around 5:15. The family of four that lived in the house was able to get out safely. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.

Route 219 from County Line Road to the Route 153 interchange is closed.

No cause has been determined yet, but a state police fire marshal is on the scene.

Firefighters from Elk, Jefferson and Clearfield counties battled the blaze.
