Man Allegedly Took Police on Chase

An Erie man is in Chautauqua County Jail for allegedly breaking into a house and taking police on a short foot chase.

Sheriff’s deputies say 1:45 a.m. Friday they got a report saying 36-year-old Michael Sexton kicked in the door of a Westfield home and went inside. He left before deputies arrived, but Westfield Police saw his car a short time later. Sexton ran from his car and took police on the short case before being taken into custody.

He’s charged with burglary, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. His bail is set at $10,000 cash.
