Kathy Stokes

Kathleen M. Stokes, 48, of 931 Wolf Run Road Smethport, passed away, Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 5, 1964, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Sandra J. (Moore) Remington of Bradford, her stepfather Olin Don Louk of Bradford, and the late David C. Remington.

On May 13, 1989 she married Kevin L. Stokes who survives.

She was a 1981 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1983 graduate of Jamestown Business College with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Management.

She was employed as the office manager for 25 years at Bradford Fairway Sales & Leasing, and the last three years in accounts payable, retiring in 2012 due to health issues.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She loved walking her dog, Daria Marie, and spending time with family and friends. She had a special fondness for all younger family members. She belonged to the Sigma Alpha Sorority Eta Phi Chapter.

Along with her husband and mother she is survived by four sisters, Cynthia A. Bigley, of Bradford, Renee R. (Brian) Dolan, of York, Kelly Jo Remington, of Grand Island, NY, Karen K. (Scott) Ordiway, of Bradford, two sister-in-laws, Karen L. Stokes of Bradford, and Kathy (Mark) Stonebraker of Bradford, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 3-5 & 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St. where a prayer service will be held 10:30am Saturday follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
