Teen Dies of Flu Complications

The flu has taken its toll on all segments of the population this season and, over the weekend, a local teenager died of complications from the flu.

17-year-old Christopher Riley of Ridgway died Saturday at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was a senior at Ridgway Area High School and had just started working at Aiello’s Café, according to his obituary.

His family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
