Accused Drug Store Burglar Apprehended
A Bolivar, New York, man wanted in connection to a drug store burglary in Shinglehouse has been picked up in St. Marys.
24-year-old Richard Darringer and 19-year-old Katelyn Barnes of Shinglehouse are accused of breaking a window at Sprout’s Drug Store and stealing a number of bottles of pills worth more than $5,100.
Barnes was arrested Sunday after a search of a house in Ceres Township. A warrant was issued for Darringer’s arrest. He was apprehended by Ridgway-based state police.
They are both charged with felony counts of burglary, conspiracy and criminal used of a communication facility. They are also charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Barnes and Darringer are jailed on $25,000 bail each.
