Serial Camp Burglar Sentenced

The second man convicted for a series of camp burglaries throughout McKean, Elk and Cameron counties has been sentenced.

27-year-old Daniel Aiello of Johnsonburg was convicted in August of 189 counts of burglary, and was sentenced Monday to 11 to 30 years in state prison. He was sentenced to an addition 5 to 10 years in prison for a conviction in January on charges of receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His accomplice, 20-year-old Mark Aiello of Kane, testified during his half-brother’s trial. He pleaded guilty in December to 111 counts of burglary and was sentenced to 12 to 24 months in Elk County Jail, followed by 15 years’ probation. The judge said he was given special consideration because, unlike his brother, he had no criminal history.
