State police say a customer at the Sweet Repeats consignment shop told them a woman she had been talking to in the store stole her purse, which contained credit cards and personal items. Their investigation led them to 34-year-old Brittany Merrill, who is charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.
Merrill was released on her own recognizance and will appear in court on a later date.
