Teacher's Aide Charged with Child Endangerment
A Chautauqua County teacher’s aide is accused of spraying a 5-year-old boy with cleaning solution that got into his eyes.
The boy was taken to the nurse’s office, where his eyes were flushed with water. He wasn’t hurt.
The aide, Terry Kemp of Jamestown, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say Kemp sprayed the boy while cleaning tables in the lunchroom at Southwestern Elementary School on March 20. She told police she meant no harm to the child and was being playful.
School district officials say they can’t comment because it’s a personnel matter.
