Three-Car Crash on Route 6

A four-year-old girl is dead following a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Route 6 in Roulette Township.

The girl, who was in a safety seat, was pronounced dead at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.

Police say a car driven by 23-year-old Kelly Bresnahan of Dalton crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Douglas Merck of Murrysville, and then hit a pickup truck driven by 62-year-old Andrew Chapman Smethport.

Merck and Bresnahan were transported to area hospitals with moderate injuries. A three year-old boy and 27-year-old Tiffany Kowalewski of Mount Cary were flown by helicopter to out of town hospitals for treatment. Chapman wasn't injured.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Route 6 is closed in Roulette Township from Trout Brook Road to Reed Run Road.

Emergency radio reports indicate that five people are involved, there is entrapment and at least one person has been ejected.
