Police Use Taser After Domestic
Police had to use a Taser on a Bradford man following a domestic incident last month.
Court papers say Dustin Birkelund got into a fight with his girlfriend, punched her in the face, then locked her out of the apartment. When police arrived they kicked in the door of the apartment and, later, kicked in the door of the room Birkelund was in.
He had a knife with him and would not comply with orders to get on the ground. Police say he “had an aggressive look on his face” as he told police to leave. They were eventually able to use the Taser on him and take him into custody.
He waived his preliminary hearing on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment. He’s free on unsecured bail.
