Man Charged for New Year's Eve Rape

A Potter County man is accused of raping a woman on New Year’s Eve, and threatening to hunt her down and kill her if she called police.

Police say 33-year-old William White of Westfield went to the home of a 27-year-old woman, forced her onto a bed and raped her. They say he then attempted to put a utility knife to her throat, but she kept it away with her forearm, where she suffered a small cut. Before leaving the house White allegedly threatened to kill the woman if she called police.

White is charged with rape, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, indecent assault and simple assault. He’s jailed on $75,000 bail.
