Fran Cannon

Frances C. Cannon, 89, of 420 High Street, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 30, 1924 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Liberata (Alviti) Pace.

On July 16, 1941, in Bradford, she married Foster W. Cannon, who passed away September 17, 1994.

She was a 1941 graduate of Bradford High School.

She was a member of St. Bernard Church.

Mrs. Cannon was known for her cake decorating and operated Fran's Cake and Candy from 1965 until 2010. She was also certified by Wilton Cake Decorating Company as an instructor and won a gold medal award for a national cake decorating competition.

She is survived by four sons, Foster A. (Eileen) Cannon, of Frisco, TX; Paul R. (Julie) Cannon, John C. Cannon and Greg L. (Teri) Cannon, all of Bradford; a sister, Shirley (Raymond) Duggan, of Hamburg, NY; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loving family members.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew W. Cannon, who passed away May 21, 1994 and four sisters, Christina Agnes Roundsville, Vivian Bottorf, Norma Bunce and Laura Florentine.

Family will be receiving friends from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St, where a prayer service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, February 7, 2014, followed by a 2PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernard Church, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, as celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired can be made to the American Cancer Society, 95 Main Street Bradford, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
