Abbie Montecalvo Has Passed Away

Longtime Lewis Run Mayor Abbie Montecalvo has passed away.

Montecalvo started his life of public service to the borough more than 60 years ago as a council member, and then served as Mayor for 56 years, stepping down last year.

Montecalvo decided not to run for another term has mayor after his lifelong friend and former borough council president Frank Langianese died in May of 2012.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes and will be announced later day.
