Catt County Gets Federal Grant Money to
Help Protect Against Major Storms
Cattaraugus County will be sharing in more than $102 million in federal grant money to protect against future major storms.
The U.S. Department of the Interior's Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resilience Grant Program will fund a variety of projects to protect communities at risk from storms like Sandy that pounded the East Coast in October of 2012.
The $350,000 going to Cattaraugus County will help reconnect 10 land-locked areas to the Allegany Reservoir. The county has to come up with $226,477 in matching funds.
