Deer Dumped into Erie-Area Creek
Five deer were dumped into Four Mile Creek, Wintergreen Gorge, near Erie and the state game commission is trying to figure out who did it.
Wildlife Conservation Officer Larry Smith says the deer believed to be road kills because they had multiple broken bones were found just upstream of Cooper Road. He believes the deer were dumped upstream and high water carried them downstream. The deer have been removed from the stream to a dry area to allow scavengers to help in the decomposition process.
Anyone with information on this incident should call the game commission’s Northwest Region Office.
