Man Gets Jail Time for Gasoline Attack
CORRECTION: The DA's office has sent a correction concerning Sherlock's sentence. He will actually spend two years in jail. He was sentenced to one year for attempted assault and one year for criminal contempt. The sentences will run consecutively.
The man originally charged with attempted murder for throwing gasoline in the faces of two people in an attempt to set them on fire has been sentenced to a year in Cattaraugus County Jail.
42-year-old Chris Sherlock of Olean threw the gasoline at the people in the early morning hours of September 5, 2013. He was in violation of an order of protection during the incident.
He pleaded guilty to attempted assault and criminal contempt.
