Pedestrian Runs Into Car on Main Street

A pedestrian attempting to beat a car that had a green light on Main Street ran into the car, and was hurt.

City police say at just after 11:30 this morning William Higie was driving his car on Main Street and approaching the intersection with Congress Street when the traffic light turned green. 40-year-old William Thomas was trying to cross the street and, in an attempt to beat the car through the intersection, ran into the driver’s side mirror.

Police say the investigation is still open until they know the extent of Thomas’s injuries. Higie will not be charged.
