Rose Schiappa

Rose M. Schiappa, 78, of Lewis Run, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 6, 1936 in Bradford, the daughter of the late Antonio and Assunta Palazetti Serafini.

She was a graduate of the St. Bernard School.

On May 3, 1958, in the St. Bernard Catholic Church she married Ralph Schiappa who survives.

She enjoyed travelling with her husband to visit relatives. Raising and caring for her family was the most important part of her life.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Ralph Schiappa of Lewis Run, she is also survived by two sons, Nick Schiappa of Bradford and Steve (Brenda) Schiappa, Sr. of Bradford; one daughter, Sue Schiappa of Lewis Run; one brother, John Serafini of Delray Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Alan Lentz, Jr., Rocco Lentz, Angela DiFonzo, Uriah Schiappa, Stephen Schiappa, Jr. and Vince Schiappa; one great granddaughter, Leah Rose Schiappa and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother, Rudy Serafini, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:30 AM in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Lewis Run, with the Rev. Stephen Collins as celebrant.

Burial and committal ceremonies will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
