The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s fall Spectrum arts series will offer area residents fine arts, funk and even horror. Spectrum is the university’s oldest art series. Artists are selected by Pitt-Bradford faculty to enhance the arts curriculum. Events are open to the public and free unless otherwise noted. The first event of the season will be an art exhibition celebrating America’s National Parks Centennial by local artist Denise Drummond. A St. Bonaventure University faculty member’s research on religious and ethical questions about artificial intelligence is the subject of a new book by a Spanish priest and educator. “Anne Foerst: The Religious Dimension of the Search for Artificial Intelligence,” by Francisco José Génova Omedes, has been published in Spain. The intersection of theology and artificial intelligence has been a lifelong research interest of Dr. Anne Foerst, an associate professor of computer science and director of the Individualized Major program at St. Bonaventure. Foerst, who’s also a theologian and an internationally known expert on human-robot interaction, is the author of “God in the Machine: What Robots Teach Us About God and Humanity,” a book that examines what robots can teach us about being human. Although we have the new wesb.com now so I don't post here anymore, I couldn't let my Thanksgiving tradition fall by the wayside. However, my list this year is both the smallest and largest I've ever done. (Huh?): I'm am thankful that God has given me more blessings than I deserve . Happy Thanksgiving ~~ Anne Oh yeah. Imagine Jackie Kennedy before she married Jack. Pretty, sophisticated with her own interests and career goals. Then she gets caught up in the Kennedy mystique and gives up everything to live the Camelot dream. Add some dirty little secrets, a wild sister and a brief but intense affair with a cousin. Sound like delicious fun? You bet it is. Replace Jackie with Tiny Schuyler Hardcastle and you've got "Tiny Little Thing," the latest must-read-this-summer novel by Beatriz Williams. Not that this is a veiled biography of Jackie Kennedy. This just gives you an idea of the era, and the kind of people who are in the book. Williams makes you root for Tiny as she comes into her own and realizes she may not want to be part of the Hardcastle dream after all.
