Two Olean men accused of setting fire to a Great Valley house have pleaded not guilty in Cattaraugus County Court. Douglas "Spoons" Mason and William Crimbring are accused of setting the fire on February 26. District Attorney Ed Sharkey says they also knew there was a person in the house when they started the fire.

A Salamanca woman has pleaded not guilty in Cattaraugus County Court to forgery and grand larceny charges. Patricia Brisley is accused of forging personal checks totalling more than one thousand dollars in October of last year. She also allegedly took her sister's Seneca Nation I-D card without her permission, assumed her sister's identity and obtained more than 500 dollars.

A Salamanca man has been sentenced to two to four years in state prison on robbery and assault charges. On March 22 of last year in Olean Tasheen Robinson forcibly stole property. On July 15 in Olean he cut Timothy Jerge on the upper and lower lips with a knife during a fight. Jerge was treated at Olean General Hospital, then released.
