10 Senior Centers Get Grant Money

Ten local senior centers will share a 50 thousand dollar state grant that they can spend on what they identify as their greatest need.

Some plan to make improvements to their facilities while others will purchase equipment to help them better meet the needs of their senior clients.

State Representative Marty Causer made the announcement this afternoon at the Bradford Senior Center.

He says senior centers meet a variety of needs for area seniors, including providing nutritious meals, offering informative sessions on issues of interest to older Pennsylvanians and presenting a variety of social and recreational activities.

The senior centers receiving grants are Bradford, Smethport, Port Allegany, Eldred, Emporium, Driftwood, Coudersport, Galeton, Ulysses and Oswayo Valley.
