Bisett Building Center Celebrates 125 Years of Doing Business in Bradford
The Mountain Laurel Harmonizers were among the attractions as Bisett Building Center celebrated its 125th year in business with a party on Davis Street Saturday afternoon. Mayor Tom Riel and Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Sheeley were on hand for the festivities as well.
George Schaming enjoys the music of the Mountain Laurel Harmonizers while showing off his hand-crafted mini carnival. (And if you haven't seen George's carnival, you need to do that. It's awesome!)
Rain wasn't a problem during the celebration. Bisett's vice president of operations Bill Gleason (far right) and others got under a tent to listen to the Fretz Middle School Jazz Band, who entertained the crowd with a variety of tunes from "The Final Countdown" to "The Pink Panther."
Bisett’s was founded in 1883 by brothers Edward, J.J. and W.W. Bisett. The company began as a moving and hauling company and later moved into masonry, concrete, lumber and hardware services. And, as anyone who listens to our stations knows, Bisett Building Center is "The Project Place."
