Man Gets 'Life' for Dismembering Roommate

A Carnegie man will spend life in prison for killing and dismembering his roommate after the men argued about the victim's pot smoking. 25-year-old James Baldwin Jr. stabbed Brendon Martin's in January 2006 after Baldwin asked Martin to move out of his house. Police say Baldwin was upset because he believed Martin's pot smoking caused Baldwin's girlfriend to miscarry their child. Police say Baldwin tried to chop up Martin's body into pieces small enough to flush down a toilet. Instead, Baldwin became nauseated and buried the remains in a shallow grave.

In Pennsylvania, the killer's sentence was determined by the social status of the victim. To add salt to the wound, Justice sentenced the killer on the 22nd birthday of the victim. Pennsylvanians have no heart.
