Kenneth Barnes Pleads Guilty

One of the two defendants in the bombing death of pizza deliveryman Brian Wells has pleaded guilty to being an accomplice in the plot. 54-year-old Kenneth Barnes, along with 59-year-old Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong, were indicted by a federal grand jury in July of 2007 in the slaying of Wells, who died following his armed robbery of the PNC Bank in the Summit Towne Centre on August 28, 2003. He was killed when a homemade bomb locked to his neck exploded. Barnes faces 30 years to life in federal prison when he's sentenced on December 3. The plea means only Diehl-Armstrong will go to trial in the Wells case. She is maintaining her innocence.
