Fatal Crash in Chautauqua County

A 32-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son died in a car crash at 7 o'clock this morning on Route 20 in the Town of Portland.

Police say a 3-year-old was hurt, and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

They say the woman's car spun out on the slush-covered road and was broadsided by another vehicle.

Police have not released the victims' names.

The road was closed for three hours after the crash.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
