Olean Man Indicted on Rape Charge

An Olean man has been indicted on charges of rape and unlawful imprisonment.

21-year-old George Portlow Jr. allegedly made sexual advances toward a woman he had known for years. The victim says when she resisted, Portlow put her in a choke hold, grabbed her hair and raped her.

The alleged incident happened between June 17 and 18, in Olean.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
