Bubble Mania at the Library

Doug Rougeux delighted dozens of bubble maniacs -- young and not-so-young -- at the Bradford Area Public Library Saturday morning with his show "Bubble Mania." The performance was the kick-off for this year's Summer Reading Program and annual bookmark contest. For more information on those activities you can go to the library and ask the friendly ladies at the desk.

The show, including bubble juggling (and swing music, because bubbles don't like pop music. Get it?) was sponsored by Friends of the Bradford Area Public Library.

This was just an amazing show. I will definitely want to see it again. My oldest son Kyle was the boy inside of the bubble at the end. All I could hear on the way home, was, "Mom can we get the stuff to do that?"

The batteries in my camera died (and, of course, I didn't have extras with me) or else I would have taken LOTS more pictures. I hope the library, or somebody, can get him here again!

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Cops: Man Had Sex with 13-Year-Old

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child.
