Pot Plants Found in Charlotte

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force found 24 marijuana plants growing in the Town of Charlotte during a flyover Monday.

Authorities say each plant is 5 to 6 feet tall and they're valued at $50,000.

44-year-old Donald VanHouton, who owns the property, has been charged with unlawfully growing and possessing marijuana.

The marijuana plants were destroyed.

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
