Sheffield Trio Facing Charges

Three Sheffield residents are facing a number of charges after a traffic stop on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say they stopped 43-year-old John Filiatrault for speeding, and discovered that he had a suspended New York driver's license. They say he also had more than 50 pills that are controlled substances.

One passenger, 35-year-old William Free was found to have active warrants in the City of Jamestown and was also allegedly in possession of a controlled substance.

Another passenger, 20-year-old Kristina Appling allegedly had 30 pills that are controlled substances. She and Filiatrault also allegedly had brass knuckles.

All three were sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $500 cash bail each.

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
