Legislation Designed to Let Workers
Choose to Join Unions or Not

A package of legislation designed let workers in Pennsylvania decide whether or not they want to join unions has been introduced in Harrisburg.

State Representative Kathy Rapp says her bill addresses teachers and other public education employees.

"The real bottom line about any of the Right to Work legislation is freedom and liberty – the right to choose what organizations to belong to and not forcibly removing some of your paycheck," Rapp said.

State Representative Darryl Metcalfe, who also sponsored one of the pieces of legislation in the package, says employers are moving out of Pennsylvania because it's not a Right to Work state.
