PA Jobless Rate Holding Steady

Pennsylvania's jobless rate is holding steady at 8.8 percent.

The jobless rate is the highest it's been since 1984, but Governor Ed Rendell says the numbers are an economic bright spot and evidence that the state may be poised for recovery.

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate is below the national rate of 10.2 percent.

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
