A Weedville teenager and a St. Marys woman injured each other during an incident early Wednesday morning Near Spring At 4 Corners in Fox Township. Ridgway-based state police say 22-year-old Lorraine Krise and 18-year-old David Charles got into a verbal argument that turned physical. They both suffered minor injuries. Charles is also accused of punching and breaking the back window of Krise’s van. His left forearm was cut. They’ve both been cited for criminal mischief and harassment.

Sometime between 3:30 Saturday afternoon and 9:30 Tuesday morning someone pulled road signs out of the ground on Topeka Road, about 1/10 of a mile east of Route 44 in Clara Township then threw them into the river. Coudersport-based state police say damage to the signs is estimated at $300. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 274-8690.

Two trash haulers have been cited for illegal transportation of municipal waste for incidents Tuesday morning at the Greentree Landfill in Fox Township. Ridgway-based state police say at 6:30 a.m. a truck owned by Hugill Transportation Inc. of Mahaffey transported waste in a container that was not maintained to prevent the load from leaking from the trailer. At 7:15 a.m. a truck tractor and trailer combination owned by LFJ Inc. of Irvona exceeded the maximum allowable gross weight of 80,000 pounds. The vehicle weighed 83,940 pounds.

A St. Marys man is accused of cashing a personal check for $250 knowing that the check was fraudulently obtained. Ridgway-based state police say sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. on May 10 20-year-old Cruz Carpin cashed a check belonging to 73-year-old Rita Marks of Byrnedale. He’s charged with receiving stolen property. Police are continuing their investigation.

A Stockton, New York, man escaped injury in an accident at 8 o’clock Wednesday morning on Hoag Road in the Town of Harmony. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies say a vehicle driven by19-year-old Joshua Link went out of control, crossed the road a couple of times, traveled into a ditch and hit a tree. He was ticketed for “speed not reasonable and prudent.”

A Coudersport man has been cited for harassing a 36-year-old Eulalia Township woman at 8:30 Sunday night. Coudersport-based state police say 41-year-old Michael Langworthy “used obscene language and called the victim profane names with the intent to annoy, harass and alarm.”
