Cops: Man Running Marijuana Growing
Operation in Cold Spring is Illegal Alien


The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force has released more information about the weekend arrest of a Chinese national accused of running a marijuana growing operation in Cattaraugus County.

31-year-old Xiao Xia Tang is jailed on charges of theft of services and unlawful growing of marijuana. Tang is also an illegal alien, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been notified.

Friday night, a raid of Tang’s Cold Spring home by several law enforcement agencies uncovered 1,162 marijuana plants worth more than $2 million. They also found about $10,000 worth of marijuana-growing equipment.
The Olean and Jamestown offices of the drug task force, as well as the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force and New York State Police Community Enforcement Team were involved in the investigation and the raid.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
