Brookville High School Graduates
Charged in Murder for Hire Scheme

Two former Brookville area residents have been arrested and charged in Virginia and Texas in a murder for hire plot.

Authorities say they investigated a tip that Larry Lingenfelter hired Joseph Frampton to murder his estranged wife who lives in Texas. Police say Frampton was to be paid cash for traveling to Texas and committing the crime.

Both men are 1988 graduates of the Brookville Area High School.

Frampton was first arrested on a charge of attempted burglary at the home of Lingenfelter’s estranged wife, but during their investigation police and the FBI uncovered the murder-for-hire plot.

Lingenfelter is in the Portsmouth, Virginia, Jail. Frampton is still behind bars in Texas but will be served with warrants from Virginia this week.

Both are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder for hire.
