Man Charged with Making False Report
State police say a fire that destroyed part of a camp in Elk County was not arson, as the owner originally reported.
They say a property dispute between the camp’s owner Gerald Hosack and the adjacent property owners prompted the arson report.
Police say Hosack attempted to use the arson report to influence Edward Metz of Charleroi and George Toth of Carmichaels to grant him a right-of-way through their properties.
Hosack is charged with making false reports to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
