Tuition Increase at State Universities
In-state tuition at the 14 state-owned universities of the State System of Higher Education will go up 4.5 percent this fall.
The system's board of governors today approved the $250 increase, which will bring tuition to $5,804 for two semesters for in-state students. About 90 percent of the 117,000 students in the system are Pennsylvania residents.
The tuition increase is part of a $1.5 billion budget for 2010-11. California, Clarion, Edinboro, Indiana, Lock Haven, Mansfield and Slippery Rock are among the 14 schools in the system.
