Big 30 Player Hurt in Cameron Co. Crash
A player on the Pennsylvania Big 30 team was hurt in an accident at about 11 o’clock Thursday night on Sizerville Road near the ball field in Portage Township.
Emporium-based state police say 18-year-old James Donald Nellis of Port Allegany was traveling south on Route 155 when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed both lanes of travel, went over a small embankment and hit a tree. The vehicle kept going through a wooded area and hit another large tree.
He had to be extricated by the Emporium Fire Department. He was first taken to Elk Regional Health Center, then to a trauma center treatment of his injuries.
