University of Pittsburgh at Bradford nursing alumna and UPMC executive Tami Minnier will return to her alma mater to present a conference on “Fixing Healthcare the Nursing Way.”

Minnier’s presentation, which can be counted for six continuing education units, is part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Pitt-Bradford nursing program during Alumni and Family Weekend.

Minnier, who is the chief quality officer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, will give an overview of quality in healthcare and a review of innovative nurse-driven changes.

During the afternoon session, Minnier will introduce the Toyota Production System and its lessons that can be translated to a health care setting through an interactive production exercise using teams to build with Legos.
