First Night Buttons on Sale Now;
Final Auditions for Talent Show Monday

There’s no better way to celebrate the holidays than a first-class ticket to the New Year.

Buttons for First Night Bradford are now on sale. This button is a pass to get into any of the venues. This includes local entertainment as well as Bob Teesdale, a singer from Nashville, Fieldstone and Moscow Nights. There are also the First Night Firsts at the Callahan Park Ice Skating Rink and Byllye Lanes, to name just a few.

The buttons are available at the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce, Tops Supermarket, The Grocery Stretcher and Tina’s Hallmark. They can also be purchased at any entertainment site the night of the event.

The buttons are $5 if purchased by Dec. 30. They are $6 if purchased on Dec. 31. An information card will accompany the buttons with a list of all the venues and acts.

There’s also time to get in on the act.

The First Night Bradford committee is holding auditions for the First Night’s Got Talent competition.

The last audition session will be held Monday, Dec. 20, at the First United Methodist Church on Chambers Street. The auditions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Time is limited for each audition and the entire act must be present for the audition.

Those interested are asked to keep in mind that acts must be family-oriented and need to be available the week of the show for any practice that is called as well as on Dec. 31 from 5 p.m. until midnight. There will be no exceptions.

Acts can bring a CD to accompany them at the auditions; no accompanist will be available for the auditions. Performers must be 13 years of age or older. Those performers who have had venues in past First Nights and were paid are not eligible to participate.

The committee is encouraging all performers to participate – singers, dancers, comedians and jugglers – to name a few.

For more information on the auditions and competition, contact Barb Pedersen and Kim Hallock, both of Bradford.

First Night is a community celebration of the New Year through the arts. It is a drug and alcohol-free, public festival with both local and regional talent.

My Comment is 1ST Night needs to be more for adults who don't have kids under 18...what entertainment is going to be taken place for adults who don't have kids to drag around with them on new years eve? Every Year me and my Husband pay for the buttons and try to find interesting things to do but all we find is entertainment for kids..which makes the night very boring but so is the Entertainment! and another problem is there's never no place to get something to eat and when u do find a place that has few decent iteams to eat there high priced.Sure I'm doing alot of Complaining but there's a realy good reason for it..Make 1st Night for Adults too not just for kids.

we have several venues that are adult venues but are family oriented so all may attend. There are a few for kids(bounce, Bwana Jim, Bubblegum Man, Moscow Nights -both adult and children) and more adult (Bob Hartle Band, Josh Hatcher Band, Band contest at Grace, Fieldstone,talent show,Bob Teesdale )numerous more not mentioned. I am sorry you have not found what suited you..maybe this yr will be diff. Being all venues are family oriented it does limit some of the material that we can allow. As for food, each venue plans on having food from hot choc to chili. Several restaurants will be offering great discounts just for showing your button (Togis, Chu Lee, Kellys,Option House,Farm,Sports Cafe..etc.) to name a few. Hopefully you will give us another try. Happy New Year!
