Pitt-Bradford Names New SID

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has named Scott Elliott as its new sports information director.

Elliott comes to Pitt-Bradford from Lindenwood University in St. Louis, where he served as the primary media contact for the men’s and women’s volleyball, track and field, ice hockey and softball teams. He helped implement a new athletics website in the fall of 2009.

Elliott also worked for Fox Sports Midwest in St. Louis, participating in Cardinals Live online chats.

At Pitt-Bradford, Elliott will serve as the media contact for all 14 Panther athletic teams as well as manage the athletics portion of the Pitt-Bradford website.

“We are very excited to have Scott join our staff,” said Lori Mazza, director of athletics. “We are hoping to implement additions to our website that will make it more interactive for the user and start webcasting all indoor events. Scott will play a big role in those initiatives.”

Elliott holds a master’s degree in sports management from Lindenwood, where he also earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. While a student at Lindenwood, he was sports director for the campus radio station, where he was the voice of both the football and basketball teams.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
