Accidental Death in Potter County
A Dayton, PA, man is dead after an accident at a gas well pipeline off Button Hollow Road in Potter County Tuesday afternoon.
State Police say 50-year-old Joseph Craig was walking on a gas pipeline, and the driver of a truck that was backing up didn’t see him. The truck hit Craig and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Potter County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Wingo at 4:20 p.m.
According to his obituary, Craig was an equipment operator for West Penn Energy.
Police were assisted by Coroner Kevin Dusenbury, the Gale Hose Ambulance, Galeton Police Department, Goodyear Hose and Germania Fire Department.
