FT Supervisors Need Easement
Agreements for Sewer Line Project

Foster Township supervisors are asking people who have not turned in their easement agreements for the new sewer line project, to turn them in as soon as possible.
“We’ve got to get the project going,” said supervisor chairman Jim Connelly Jr. “It’s no longer February. We’ve got a contractor out there that wants to go to work.”
He said he and supervisors BJ Campbell and Dale Phillips will be going door-to-door to talk with people who have not turned in their agreements yet, and asked that people who have a problem call them.
Township engineer Roy Pedersen noted that Al Vanderpoel, also with E&M Engineers, has worked with a few residents who had issues and those issues have been resolved.
Connelly wondered – because EDUs have been shut off in the Tuna Valley – if residents will be able to use the sewer system after they pay the tap-in fee.
Pedersen because this is part of the Act 537 Plan people who hook up to the system will “absolutely” be able to use it.
Also Monday, road supervisor Mike Fox said his department is trying to keep up with cold patching the roads but weather is an issue.
“It’s either raining or snowing,” he said, noting the area had precipitation 28 of 30 days in April.
“We’re wafting for dry weather to repair washouts of berms on numerous roads,” Fox said. “If you put mud in, that’s all you’re going to end up with is mud.”
Fox also said they took the snow plows and sanders off the department’s trucks
“Are you sure that’s a good thing to do, Mike?” Connelly asked, chuckling.
Fox also thanked and acknowledged his road crew for the “wonderful job” they did over the winter.
“It was a rough winter and we all got a lot of phone calls,” Connelly said, “but you guys did a good job.”
Fox also noted that his department needs someplace to dump dirt, so if anyone needs dirt on their property they can call him and make the arrangements.
In other matters Monday, supervisors thanked all the people who recently opened – or will be opening – businesses in the township.
The newest is the Foster Brook Market, which Jim and Carolyn Newhouse hope to open in the former Firestone building in time for Mother’s Day.
The supervisors also mentioned the Hometown Deli, Burgers and BBQ and Franco’s Texas Hots.
“Anyone that likes hot dogs …,” Phillips said in reference to Franco’s, “Personally I feel that their recipe is close to what Nick (of Nick’s Red Hots) used to have. So you might want to stop there and try them for lunch.”
