Woman Charged with Welfare Fraud

An Olean woman is accused of getting more than $4,000 in public assistance that she was not entitled to.

Sheriff’s deputies say 38-year-old Tina Bell did not report her job and wages on her applications to the county social services department from October of 2007 to October of 2008. She allegedly received $4,080 in cash assistance and food stamps.

Bell is charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.
