16th Annual KCH Charity Golf Scramble
On Sunday, August 21, the 16th Annual KCH Charity Golf Scramble took place at Kane Country Club. Despite clouds and intermittent showers, a great day was enjoyed by 92 players of 23 teams taking part in this year’s tournament.
Proceeds from the 2011 tournament will support KCH’s new Sleep Center that opens in September.
Five teams enjoyed the $2,000 plus purse: First Place -- low gross, 55, went to the Northwest Savings Bank foursome of Randy Durante, Chris Sundberg, Joe Colosimo and Ron Dellen;
Second Place -- low net, first team 55, went to the team of Scott McCann, Bob McCann, Mike Washington, and Tim Washington;
Third Place -- low net, second team, 58 (blind draw #12) went to the Daugherty Contracting Team of Buzz Daugherty, Scott Bines, Tim Baker and George Horetsky;
Fourth Place – low net, third team, 58 (blind draw #12) went to the threesome of Travis Menteer, George Saleh, and Robin Copley, who was not available for the photo.
Fifth Place -- low net, fourth team, 59 (blind draw #1) went to Jack Hedlund, Jon Hannon, Rick Smith and Tyler Smith. (Rick Smith is not pictured)
Scramble contest winners included: Skins won by the team of Scott McCann, Bob McCann, Mike Washington and Tim Washington with an eagle on #1; by the team of Travis Menteer, George Saleh and Robin Copley with an eagle on #4; and by Dr. Udarbe, Jerry Stenta, Ryan Wilhelm and Sean Papa with a birdie on #14 and an eagle on #16.

At the buffet dinner following the tournament, J. Gary Rhodes, KCH CEO and VP of UPMC Hamot thanked the Kane Country Club, Kane Manor Country Inn, caterer of the buffet dinner, all players and event sponsors including silver sponsors: UPMC Hamot and PNC Bank, and bronze sponsors: Northwest Savings Bank, Kocjancic Family Ltd. Partnership,and Crescent Beer Distributors, Inc.
The hole-in-one contest was sponsored again this year by Zook Motors of Kane. No one had a hole-in-one on the designated hole this year.
Two dozen hole sponsorships and many additional prize sponsors lent support to the tournament.
The tournament was directed by Mark Papalia, Director of Operations at KCH, with assistance from KCH leadership and staff.
