Woman Rescued from Chautauqua Gorge

A woman had to be rescued at the Chautauqua Gorge Saturday night.

Sheriff’s deputies say the woman, who they did not identify, was stranded on a small ledge overlooking the gorge off Canada Road in the Town of Chautauqua at around 7:15 p.m.

After deputies helped the woman get off the ledge, the Technical Rescue Team got her up the hill and out of the gorge.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child.
