Crispell Hearing Set for November

A hearing is scheduled for November in the case of a Clearfield man convicted of killing a St. Marys woman in 1989.

40-year-old Daniel Crispell had been scheduled for execution on October 19 but, on Tuesday, a stay was issued.

A hearing on issues arising from a Post-Conviction Relief Act petition is scheduled for November 1 in Clearfield. Senior Judge John B. Leete of Potter County will preside over the hearing.

Crispell was convicted of murder, kidnapping, robbery and related charges in June 1990. Crispell and an accomplice, Christopher Weatherill, kidnapped Ella Brown at knifepoint from a DuBois shopping mall parking lot. Her body was found the following day. Crispell and Weatherill were arrested in Arizona.

Weatherill, who is now 39, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
