Wilbert Wolfe

Wilbert J. ‘Rupe’ Wolfe, 90, of 122 Barbour Street, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born February 16, 1921, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Lea Baun and Genevieve Rose (Kennedy) Wolfe.

On August 3, 1946, he married Helen A. (Connelly) Wolfe who survives.

Mr. Wolfe was a 1942 graduate of Bradford High School. On August 21, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre simultaneously with six of his brothers, and was honorably discharged February 9, 1946.

He worked at Trico Industries as a machinist for 41 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Bernard Church, The Italian American Progressive Club, The American Legion and the Eagle’s Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on various home improvement projects and was well loved by his many friends he made over his lifetime in Bradford.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by three daughters, Kathy Paterniti of Pittsburgh, Christie Morgan and Laurie E. Wolfe, both of Bradford; three sons Patrick J. (Nora) Wolfe of Naples., FL., Michael B. (Janice) Wolfe and Scott M. Wolfe both of Bradford; a brother, Richard Wolfe of Erie, ten grandchildren, Stephanie Weinberg, Kristin Paterniti-Morris, Michael and Rick Paterniti, Jason Morgan, Adrienne and Aaron Wolfe, Jenna, Allie and Corrinne Wolfe; 11 great grandchildren, who all lovingly called him, ‘Bonca’ and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.

Family will be receiving friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Thursday, January 20, 2012, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 3 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM, Friday, January 21, 2012 in St. Bernard Church, with Fr. Stephen Collins, Pastor of St. Francis Church as celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded outside the church following the Mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made in honor of his son, Scottie to the Ramsbottom Center, 800 East Main Street or to the charity of the donor's choice.
