Mary Crane
Mary A. Crane, 70, of Lake Wales FL, passed away Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at Lake Wales Medical Center.
Born November 11, 1941, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Milton J. and Mary (Onuffer) Dawley.
Mrs Crane graduated from Rochester Institute of Technoloy, with a B.S. degree and Syracuse University, with a Master of Science Degree. She was alongtime resident of Cold Spring, NY where she taught business education for 32 years at Peekskill City School. She also taught at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY, Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY, Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, and Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh, NY.
Mrs Crane was always taking classes to learn new things, including many computer programs. She had many hobbies, including volunteering, sewing, needlepoint, cooking and genealogy. She had traveled to 46 of the 50 states, almost every country in Europe and South America. While a teacher she sponsored many clubs and activities. She was a member of the Lake Wales Methodist Church, and the Lake Wales Chapter NSDAR.
She moved to Nalcrest FL in 2004 along with her husband.
Surviving is her husband of 45 years, William (Bill) Crane, a foster daughter Rosa Veles of San Antonio, TX and several cousins, nieses and nephews.
Family will be recieving friends on Tueday February 7th, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. East Main St. where a prayer service will be held at 1:30pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00pm in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as celebrent. Committal services and burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park.
